2016 Year in Review

Twenty sixteen was a wonderful year for HBC.

We developed a roadmap for the coming years.
We began developing a budget.
Incorporated.
Elected a board.
Met every single month.
Maintained good relationships with:

  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Dept of Children and Families
  • Escambia County — including regular meeting with the administrator
  • Brownsville CRA
  • Brownsville Assembly of God (cornerstone relationship)
  • Pace Temple

Developed a relationship with Oscar’s Restaurant
Partnered with Habitat to:

  • produce a wonderful Literacy Event
  • apply for grant finding
  • plant trees in the neighborhood

Successfully insured the support of the TPO for a transformational Cervantes/Mobile Highway Improvement Plan

Designed and are implementing some striking neighborhood signs which will be funded by the CRA.

Produced a Brownsville Meet & Greet with over 100 attendees.

Maintained a presence in the local media with various mentions on local TV, web and print.

Made and deployed website and Facebook page.
